Paris, France – 17/06/2026 – AgileBio, developer of the LabCollector Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), announces the expansion of AI-powered tools and agents across LabCollector. These new capabilities are designed to help laboratories improve documentation, data organization, reporting, safety workflows, and module configuration directly inside their LIMS environment.
Artificial Intelligence is becoming a powerful assistant in modern laboratories. With the first wave of LabCollector AI Agents now available and more tools on the way, AgileBio is bringing practical AI support into the daily work of researchers, lab managers, technicians, and safety teams.
"AI should not feel like a separate tool that laboratories have to adopt from scratch. Our goal is to bring useful AI assistance directly into the workflows scientists already use every day."
AI Support Built Into Daily Laboratory Work
Instead of working with separate AI tools outside the laboratory system, users can access AI features inside LabCollector, where their samples, experiments, inventory, documents, and workflows are already managed.
What AI Can Do in LabCollector
Improve scientific writing
Refine experiment notes, reports, descriptions, and documentation.
Capture observations by voice
Use AI audio transcription to convert spoken notes into structured text.
Support chemical safety
Detect risks and help populate GHS pictograms from relevant safety information.
Create graphs from prompts
Use the AI Graph Builder to generate charts from natural language requests.
Build reports faster
Use the AI Report Builder to create PDF report templates from user instructions.
Process images and PDFs
Extract structured data from documents, images, and files.
Generate smart eLabel content
Automatically prepare and update electronic shelf label content based on LabCollector records.
Configure modules
Ask an agent to review spreadsheets and help create custom LabCollector modules.
These tools are part of a broader AI roadmap for LabCollector, with additional agents planned for experiment co-creation, app building, workflow design, knowledge base assistance, and advanced data search.
A Growing Ecosystem of AI-Powered Tools
Several AI-powered tools are already available or being progressively added across the LabCollector ecosystem, including:
Privacy and Flexibility by Design
LabCollector AI is designed with privacy, flexibility, and security in mind. Instead of forcing one built-in AI service, LabCollector allows organizations to connect their own AI provider using their own API key. This gives each laboratory more control over which AI models are used and how data is processed.
"Every laboratory has its own requirements for data privacy, compliance, and internal IT rules. By allowing users to connect their own AI provider, LabCollector gives organizations the flexibility they need while making AI easier to adopt."
Availability
AI tools are available in recent LabCollector versions. To get started, users should update their LabCollector instance to version 6.31 or higher, navigate to the Artificial Intelligence settings, select their AI provider, and add their API key.
